Extractions
While it is the intent of the dental profession as a whole to save teeth, unfortunately there are instances when extraction (pulling the tooth) is the only option. Teeth can be replaced with implants, bridgework, or dentures.
Badly decayed teeth is but one example of this. In many cases, other treatments may be available, but sometimes the cost is prohibitive. For situations such as these, extraction is available to relieve pain or infection.
Routine wisdom teeth extraction is yet another aspect in which surgical services play a role in dentistry. Most adolescents do not have the length of jaw necessary to provide enough room for the wisdom teeth. In this aspect, extraction is considered a preventative issue.
Unlike most dental offices that choose to refer patients out of the office to an oral surgeon, Dr. LaTocha provides these services in house.
